My boyfriend regarding his (annoying) bird.
Dave: I would have been so mad at you if you moved your chair and it squished Rocco.
Me: No you wouldn't. You'd be happy I finally gave you a way out of the relationship.
Dave: No that's how I'd feel if Rocco squished you.

glitterati:
The Mermaid problem is an observation occasionally mentioned in literature, concerning the difficulty of having sexual intercourse with a mermaid.
“In the past it was not uncommon for a mermaid (actually a medieval siren or melusine) to be portrayed as having a split tail, with a vagina located (or merely implied to be) between the two parts. H. P. Lovecraft’s short story...

Touche to Tolstoy
Tumin: A touch of poverty is good for the semination of new ideas?
Rosenberg: There's no question about that. How can you ask such a question? Affluence is heady, you know, and a very dubious condition to develop new ideas, or even to hold on to old ones.
Tumin: But you wouldn't be willing to say . . . ?
Rosenberg: Starvation is also bad.
Tumin: It's impossible to state the best conditions under which you would get the freest flowing of ideas?
Rosenberg: Yes, Tolstoy once said that government support of the arts is terrible, because an artist who is well off will never produce a work of art.
Tumin: Do you agree?
Rosenberg: No, because starvation is also bad. Tolstoy is the last guy in the world who should talk about a subject like that If he had any sense of good manners, he would know that that is not a subject for him to discuss.

I guess I’ve been scrapbooking since before I even had memories to scrapbook.
The subjectmatter of my middleschool collections and this tumblr are essentially the same: cute puppies, harry potter, jncos jeans and BFFs.
Really, the only difference is that with those scrapbooks I didn’t (have to) think about the hundreds of strangers following it or those who might come across it...
