College Humor’s “Head of Skate” premiere. “She puts the ICE in Vice President”
There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well....
– Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice (via this) (via glitterati)
Musical Outreach Program
What’s a good not too expensive band to round out the bill with Best Fwends and Paperrad/Extreme Animals on October 23rd in NYC? I had Ponytail but they just fell through. Idears, anyone?
These guys are good. They are better than the Rolling Stones, but not quiet as...
– Carter Hanks, age 3, Chapel Hill, NC on band “Harry and the Potters”
When I think of friends of mine that I can call “perfect”, Lex Powell of Festival is on a list of only a select few. If there is a second-coming, it will probably be Lex (with a beard.) She is the kind of girl who on a Saturday night has a feeling Dave and I are “somewhere nearby” and drives out of the way to come pick us up only to give us a ride home. Here is the very...
gChat between Paper TV's Pierce Jackson & I
Mallory: oh SHI. Nylon TV just picked up Peaches Geldof as the cohost for Cory Kennedy. You will own them.
Pierce: Wha?
Mallory: Peaces Geldof = Cory Kenney in London (or so I just read?) IDEA: Get Pixie Geldof and Cody Kennedy to host.
Pierce: Nah we need better people and a budget to pay them.
Mallory: In all honesty, you should have a mascot do it. Like Little Miss Piggy or some other sort of sassy puppet. I'd watch that and it'd trump anything Nylon would come up with and you wouldn't need a budget because puppets don't need money just luv.
Pierce: YO FIND A PUPPETEER AND I'M ALL OVER IT.
Things I've found are guaranteed to impress...
1. Being able to perform an array of accents
2. Bilinguality
3. Perfect SAT scores
4. Crafty puns
A lot of this has to do with a mastery of language and yet half have more to do with luck than learning. It’s not my fault I wasn’t born to a Japanese mother or an Armenian father. I also didn’t get perfect SAT scores. Overall, I am not too impressive.
My Dungeons & Dragons Character
I Am A: True Neutral Half-Elf Sorcerer (3rd Level) Ability Scores: Strength-9 Dexterity-10 Constitution-11 Intelligence-14 Wisdom-15 Charisma-18 Alignment: True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn’t feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or...

Scary?
NYU just sent an e-mail to our whole student body warning us of impending employment crises and urging us to “explore other carreer options” as we should not be surprised to find a decreased labor force upon graduation.
I’ve been watching the news all night and they keep alluding to a “big experiment” involving particle acceleration which starts tomorrow that will do either one of two things:
1. Lead to the end of the world as we know it
2. Discover the origins of the planet Earth
This is very clever wording and I cannot take the suspense any longer. I have so much work to do but I am...
It's all about the green (but which?)
I just got home from Good Magazine’s mini roof party celebrating the release of their “Going Green” issue. When I was leaving I asked the bartender for water and was served a large Aquafina bottle. Are there people in charge over there? And if so, why’d they go and unearth a hunk of land to be placed in the middle of a rooftop for one week- seemingly going out of their...
Two definite trends for spring, so far.
juliaallison:
1) diaphanous diaphanous diaphanous diaphanous
2) avant guarde
which means that:
A) you’ll be really, ridiiiiculously comfy
but
B) no men will like or understand your clothing.
eh, trade offs.
There are now at least 2 posts where Julia Allison spells avant-garde as “avant guarde.” Is this a mistake that has continuously gone uncorrected or is there some new...
Not only do I like playing Spore, I like reading... →
This game came out yesterday in the U.S. Over the course of about 7 hours total, I have already passed the cell stage, creature level, tribal level, civilization level (boasting global dominance) and am now onto space exploration! YES!
I just played Spore for 5 hours. My eyes hurt.
Broken Social Toes
Also of note from last night: a girl tried to jump on stage but fell backwards breaking not one but two of her toes and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. We will party hard.
Broken Social Scene sent in their guest list...
and Sarah Palin was on it.
