Oh hi hello there. I'm Mallory Blair. I am a 23-year-old New Yorker, spending most of my time making Small Girls PR run.

Before landing on this page, you and I were only separated by a mere three degrees. Now we can be one on the web. That's not the definition of technological singularity but it should be.

With this tumblog, I promise kittens and balls of yarn for the kittens to play with. There will be some making out and a lot of hand-holding. I hope that when you are lonely and lost on the outmost corners of the interweb, you can come here and find yrself and feel the good vibrations. You are special and no one can touch that!

Ok, time out.  This is just some goober trying to come off as a creative thinker at the risk of ruining the disney princesses reputations.  Totally selfish.  Here’s the deal. Belle doesn’t save the Beast with her beauty.  She saves him by TRUE LOVE, dude!  And that’s because she is compassionate enough to see beyond the beast.  It’s precisely because her beauty isn’t only skin-deep & because she isn’t a shallow character that the story prevails.  Then we’ve got Cinderella.  Homegirl is “real” and that’s what separates her from all the other pretty ninnypoops at the ball.  It’s her down-to-earth nature and natural charm that wins the Prince (the former likely being a derivative of her “hard work” you mention here); I’ve seen plenty of versions of this story and there are always fine bitches roaming about that ball so don’t you tell me it’s just because she was pretty.  And isn’t Jasmine supposed to be the staunch feminist of the group?  She’s outspoken, wears men’s clothes, isn’t even into the whole marriage thing (except for when she falls in luuurve), and attempts to cut out her own path rather than simply follow the one society’s set for her (choosing individuality & personal happiness over security & fortune.)  I just have to back up my girls on this one.

YES. I love these explanations so much more. The cynical originals grate on my nerves, just because someone is beautiful...
