Oh hi hello there. I'm Mallory Blair. I am a 23-year-old New Yorker, spending most of my time making Small Girls PR run.

Before landing on this page, you and I were only separated by a mere three degrees. Now we can be one on the web. That's not the definition of technological singularity but it should be.

With this tumblog, I promise kittens and balls of yarn for the kittens to play with. There will be some making out and a lot of hand-holding. I hope that when you are lonely and lost on the outmost corners of the interweb, you can come here and find yrself and feel the good vibrations. You are special and no one can touch that!

I need a new online social network

jessenovak:

I hate them all. It’s crazy that we’re all just supposed to be on facebook now and have that be the end of it. It’s no fun for me if everyone’s a part of it. I liked Friendster but only when it was new. I liked myspace but only before it got out of control. I never really liked Facebook but that’s beside the point.

The point is that these sites should be like bars or venues or clubs or parties or any other social context - there should always be new ones opening up and people should be trying to be part of the next cool one before it becomes too popular. There’s no fun for me in being part of a club where I have to see every person I ever went to elementary, middle school, high school, or college with. Why would anyone ever to to a place like that?
