Definitely don’t have to be female. As stated, we have one proud male on the team and are actually interviewing another two this week alone. Contrary to our name, we’re not height or gender discriminatory.

Unfortunately, however, living in or near NYC is needed in order to fill either of the currently open positions.

Consider this our official welcoming of Annie Jackson onto the Small Girls PR team!

We first met Annie in Utah this past March when we were flown out to speak at Utah State University’s PRSSA conference. Annie got our attention when she showed up with tiaras for all the girls who came to see Mallory speak about our Tiza.com prom campaign and then blew us out of the water when she detailed how she also built a local cupcake bakery’s social campaign from the ground up (just like our activation for Spot Dessert Bar) in addition to chairing her university’s PR club and producing all of the events therein.

It wasn’t long before we offered her a position here, scooped her up and flew her to NY to join us to execute research and assist in outreach on our client accounts. We’re now a team of 4 in the offices and 5 total (rounding out the fifth is Brandon, our paid media specialist, who works remotely in… surprise… Utah!)

Hi, What does Pal Mal mean? Is it Yiddish? I was watching an old t.v. show from the 70s and one of the characters who speaks a lot Yiddish also said "pal mal" but I didn't know what it meant. Here's the dialogue/context: "It's not as futile as all that, is it?" "Oh no, of course not, a bunch of sign waving school teachers running pal mal (spelling?) into the streets whooping it up. It's a real show stopper!" Laughter -- I would really appreciate your feedback. Google didn't yield anything.

This is a really funny, great question. Here’s why:

My username is a nickname I was given as a kid… my father called me his pal Mal. ’Mal’ being short for ‘Mallory’- my full name. Since I’ve started the blog I’m now everyone’s pal, or at the very least “your”s.
My father’s first language is Yiddish. Totally unrelated to Mal and totally unrelated to pell-mell, which I believe is the word you heard on that TV show.
Pell-mell is actually English and is defined as a rushing, tumbling mass. For example, “The children dashed pell-mell on the beach and head first into the waves.”
